Moving from the heart of hockey to the Sunshine State was a tough transition for Brockington Maxwell.
He spent one year at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers before transferring to Florida State.
“Being an out-of-state student in Florida, you don’t know a single person, so you’re looking to get involved,” Maxwell said.
He started with the sport he grew up playing in Rogers, Minn., and inquired about FSU’s club hockey team.
FSU head coach Nataniel Boiangin is glad he did.
“He found us,” Boiangin said.
