GET TO KNOW THEM

Jessica Green
Hello, I'm Jessica Green and I begun my athletic journey two years ago! Today, I compete in Triathlons, Half Marathons and several loval 5ks in South Florida! While being a student at the University of Florida I was a member of Gamma Phi Beta and participated in philanthropic fundraising for Girls on the Run. I am excited that my athletic journey has brought me back to GOTR and am looking forward to fundraising and participating in the Savannah Women's Half!

Brianne Miller
My name is Brianne Miller, and I’m 39 years old. I am the Assistant Service Manager at Southern Motors Honda. I have been living in Savannah for about 12 years. This will be my 3rd year running the 5K! I initially chose to do this as a personal accomplishment for myself, but now it has turned into a yearly accomplishment and source of enjoyment. Additionally, I thought it would be fun to raise funds to support organizations and to inspire other women to believe they can accomplish anything.

I have always enjoyed running. I was a sprinter in high school and began running long distance 10 years ago when a switch in careers landed me in Indianapolis. I joined Black Girls Run soon after starting my 6 month contract. I was hooked. I started with 5ks but I run half marathons more often these days as I work on my goal of running 100 lifetime half marathons.
Megan Miller
My name is Megan Miller. I am 37 years old, and I have a 2-year-old daughter named Jessie. I was born and raised in Savannah. I love traveling and being outdoors. When I am not running, I enjoy reading, playing darts, and spending time with my family. I have been running for almost 13 years and have participated in every Publix Savannah Women’s 5K since the event started. I am raising money for Girls on the Run because, as a former coach and running buddy for the program, I enjoyed watching the girls learn and grow about everyday life situations. I want to continue teaching young girls that they can achieve anything if they put their minds to it, and I want to inspire my daughter to be the best version of herself.
Nicole Green
I chose to be on the charity team this year to raise money for Girls on the Run, which is an organization I used to be a part of when I was little and it was super fun and motivational! Now, it's my time to give back to keep continuing this program for future generations!
Kristin Haynes
I’m Kristin, born and raised in Savannah, GA.  I am a wife and have two daughters.  I began running in 2016 and it has changed my life completely.  I love the community it has brought into my life and I feel like I have a second family.  This is the reason I am raising money for Girls on the Run. I want these girls to grow strong, have big dreams and become a part of a community that encourages them to succeed.
Sherry Feathers
I am thrilled with the opportunity to be an ambassador for the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon and 5K. I thank the sports council and the community for recognizing senior runners as an important attribute to our community. Originally from Pennsylvania, I have three grown children, seven awesome grandkids, and one great-grandchild. They are all precious and support my efforts in running despite the crazy schedule a runner has. Along the way, I have collected nicknames such as Running Nana, Pitter, Pat, Secret Weapon, and Cinder, with my favorite being Cinderella. Each name holds its own special meaning, and I answer to them all with a smile. My passion lies in working with youth groups such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the Fresh Air Home, Girls On The Run, Relay for Life, and various other service events. I enjoy running, talking, and learning new names and faces along the way. As we pound the pavement of the historic streets of Savannah, we can relive our history. Our feet hit the ground, and our eyes gaze upon the beauty of azaleas in full bloom, trees draped with moss, historic homes with comforting porches. I am always in awe of the quaint boutiques, intriguing delis, coffee shops, and the beauty of the squares and parks. We are blessed to live in such a fascinating city. I look forward to promoting an event that I truly love, running the race, raising money for GOTR, and crossing the finish line. The finish line is always amazing, hearing and seeing the spray of crystal-clear water from the famous Forsyth Park fountain. See you at the finish line!
